Irvine is big. Covering over 66 square miles, it takes a long time to get from one end of the city to the other. And with almost 300,000 people living here, Irvine contains a lot of neighborhoods. Ever wonder how this master planned city manages to cover services for all 40+ neighborhoods? It all comes down to the trio of regions: Portola, Crossroads, and University.

Portola

This is the biggest of Irvine’s three regions with some of the newest neighborhoods and the Great Park. Including fourteen villages that straddle both the Irvine and Tustin school districts, Portola is run by Area Lieutenant Frough Jahid.

Crossroads

This center region of Irvine contains one of its biggest entertainment and shopping draws : Irvine Spectrum. Crossroads is overseen by Area Lieutenant Tim Schilling.
